What to learn more: Pivoting To Web3 | Top 100 Jargon Terms
Donna Mitchell [00:00:00]:
Welcome to pivoting to Web3 podcast, where experts break down AI, blockchain and tech shaping our future. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Welcome to Pivoting to Web three. This is Donna Mitchell and today I'm going to have a brief discussion with you on a couple of changes that are taking place at pivoting to web3. Some of the direction that we're going so you have some insight on what to expect and hopefully that you decide to share the information, download like and subscribe as usual so we can get better guests, improve the quality of our conversations. We're getting information from the audience that they would like to see some other depth and breadth in our conversations with some of the key leaders in the industry. And to do that, I am hoping that I'll be able to show who's listening, have some increased engagement, because right now, so many of you, so many of you are not subscribing.
Donna Mitchell [00:01:03]:
Most of you are really not on my list of subscribers. And to know what you like, how you like it, develop a community, I'm going to need your information and we're going to start sharing additional information that would be helpful to you in this digital transformation. Today I wanted to really give you some updates in regards to what I've been doing personally to make sure that I keep up. This is not easy. It is not easy for anyone to keep up. As fast as everything is changing. Even with me being in the digital space, the consulting space, and pivoting to Web3 and AI and health tech, there is a lot to consume and a lot to learn. The most important thing I can say that I do is try to keep an open mind and keep my mindset set new and in the learning mode so I can adapt, not fall behind and engage and continue to grow.
Donna Mitchell [00:02:04]:
It is the growth that's necessary to be able to handle change. Because the only thing constant in life is change. I was told that as a child and now that I'm a seasoned woman and been hanging around here for quite a few decades, I would say the only thing constant in life is change. So let's just get into it just a little bit in regards to my growth. The other thing beyond constant in life is change is consistency. I have learned the system. I know the system consistently. I heard it different ways, but not until I heard it from my own folks, from where I'm from, just talking.
Donna Mitchell [00:02:48]:
The regular game broke it down very clearly, what you need to do in order to win at the podcast game. And a lot of the information that I received. I was slowly piecing it together between the webinars, the podcasts, the zooms, the courses, the masterclasses, the challenges. Everything ties in together. The book, the stages, the conversations, the know like and share. Everything that you've been told is true. So do it, just be consistent, do it grow, have the passion and authenticity because it works. And then you start gaining the authority, the integrity and the know like and trust factor.
Donna Mitchell [00:03:31]:
I will leave it there on that. So let's move on. I really want to touch into the mindset. There are companies that are going into AI and they're thinking if the CEO says it or if I need to do this, we're just going to do it. And it's a wrap. No, it's not a wrap. You have to get buy in. You have to have the right mindset with your leadership.
Donna Mitchell [00:03:56]:
What type of culture do you have? Is everyone's behavior on board? Is everyone mind open that we're going to come into this in a positive way and we're going to learn, develop, analyze, adjust, monitor, analyze, adjust, monitor and see what takes place and do our best at this to minimize costs, maximize profits, increase outcomes and keep our customers happy. And by customers, I mean internal and external. Are we looking at this? Do you have leadership that don't want to deal with technology and have a bad attitude? Well, it's time to have a conversation with that direct report. It is time for them to keep those feelings at home or get them to modify their behavior in a manner that it's positive on the outcome of your environment, your culture, in your business? Yes, we are talking about the behavior of those that are coming to your employment, to your company, your culture, or is it you? Are you not really interested in technology? Are you constantly complaining at the water cooler? Are you constantly talking too much about the negativity when you're with your colleagues, direct reports or upper management in your C suite, button it up, change your mind, modify it, fix it, read, do whatever you have to do. But you do not want to be the toxic person in a time like this. And the way we are moving as fast as we are moving in technology, I'm saying that because it matters, but it matters not only for leadership. It matters for the entire organization. And you constantly have to balance, let's say, the organizational needs and the needs of the people.
Donna Mitchell [00:05:57]:
There's the people, there's the organization and you have to balance both. You can't do one without the other. But the most important thing is the leadership. So now there's going to be some challenges. People are going to have insecurities, they're going to have fears, they're going to worry about AI. Is it going to take my job? Think of AI. This is how I went into this. I thought of AI and how it enhanced who I was.
Donna Mitchell [00:06:24]:
I'm already pretty bright. I'm not the smartest knife in the drawer, I but I'm pretty bright. At the end of the day, I started asking questions, I started looking at the information. It's going to make you better than who you are. If you got a quick mind now, you'll have a quicker mind. If you have great ideas now, they'll be better with AI. Think of it that way. You don't want to be replaced by someone else who knows AI better than you.
Donna Mitchell [00:06:50]:
So this is the time to experiment. Get comfortable, play with the different tools. See which ones you're comfortable with, what you can utilize in your world, in your job, in your home, in your families and in your life. Because it's going to be everywhere. It's everywhere. It's everywhere. No, I can't sing, but you get the idea. So lack of understanding is really going to hold a lot of people back.
Donna Mitchell [00:07:19]:
So I would say be open, learn, adjust, take it in, experiment and be a good learner. So what's going to happen if you don't get on board? You definitely will be left behind because it's moving at a clip, it's moving fast. What used to take a year to take place might only take a few months right now and we all need to keep up. So with that said, I hope you have a fabulous day and wherever you are. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and thank you for being here and sharing this time with me.
